One of the top communities for families in the nation? Yep, that’s Leesburg. Eighth, in fact.
After evaluating nearly 2,000 cities, towns, suburbs, exurbs, villages, and townships that had between 25,000 and 750,000 residents across all 50 states, Fortune magazine collected more than 215,000 data points and ranked Leesburg 8th of out 25 best places to live for families in the entire nation. The data points were derived from five broad categories: education, aging resources, general wellness, financial health, and livability. Fortune cited Leesburg’s copious history, quaint shops, art galleries, high-ranking public schools, support for the aging community, family-friendly festivals, and the winery and brewery scene, naming it a “go-to destination” for art, culture, families, and general fun.
Leesburg was the only locality in Virginia to make the top 25 list.
In addition to what Fortune mentioned in the release, Leesburg also offers ample recreation opportunities, including golf, hiking, biking, and programs, as well as safe and friendly neighborhoods, an award-winning restaurant scene, and is a fantastic commuter destination with quick access to Dulles International Airport and Washington D.C. Metrorail.
