- Loudoun County Economic Development is ramping up its efforts to attract international businesses to the county. As part of this, the Loudoun Board of Supervisors has approved a sister city relationship with the Shunyi District of Beijing, China. This partnership joins Loudoun’s existing agreements with Main-Taunus-Kreis, Germany; New Taipei City, Bangio District, Taiwan; and Goyang City, Korea.
- Loudoun Supervisors also approved the county budget last week, which included funding for an international business development manager for the economic development department.
- The Silver Line is slated to make its Loudoun debut in 2018, and development around the future stations is already well underway. Members of Loudoun’s Economic Development Advisory Commission are working hard to make sure the Metro stations are surrounded by a bustling nightlife, including bars, restaurants, retail stores, and more.
- One thing Loudoun already has is a large selection of wineries. With 42, we have the highest concentration in the state. Along with this is a strong grape growing industry. According to a new report, Loudoun ranked second in Virginia in grape tons produced in 2014, with that number expected to grow in 2015.
