Loudoun County’s economy continues to grow, and local business leaders have an opportunity to help shape its future.
The Loudoun County Department of Economic Development is seeking applicants for the Economic Development Advisory Commission (EDAC), which advises the Board of Supervisors on policies and initiatives that support a strong, diverse, and competitive economy.
EDAC works alongside the Department of Economic Development to advance the Board’s economic vision by providing strategic guidance on business development, marketing initiatives, and special projects. The commission also develops its own annual work plan to support the county’s long-term goals of expanding the commercial and industrial tax base while fostering sustainable economic growth.
Commission members serve up to two three-year terms and meet every other month, beginning in January, with opportunities to participate in working committees between meetings. Meetings are open to the public, and schedules, agendas, and supporting materials are available on the county calendar.
Following the application period, EDAC leadership will review submissions and recommend candidates to the Board of Supervisors for appointment later this year. New members’ terms begin January 1 and include an orientation before the commission’s first meeting of the year.
