Loudoun Business Leaders Help Launch New Organization

DED Team

Loudoun business leaders helped launch a new state organization called the Virginia Agri-Women in Richmond this week. The First Lady of Virginia, Dorothy McAuliffe, was on hand to celebrate the formation of this important group, along with the Virginia Secretary of Agriculture and Forestry, Todd Haymore.

“The role that women play in agriculture doesn’t get recognized enough,” Haymore said, noting that his appreciation for agriculture was first inspired by his grandmother.

The event was also attended by Sue McCrum, president of the national organization American Agri-Women, of which VAW is now a chapter.

“I know this is going to be one of the most successful chapters in America,” Haymore predicted.

Serving on VAW’s inaugural Board of Directors are President Sandy Adams, Vice-President Kellie Hinkle, 2nd Vice-President Lauren Arbogast, Treasurer Kimley Blanks, and Executive Director Cassie Walls.
