Loudoun County Seeks Applicants for Rural Economic Development Council by July 18 Deadline

Loudoun County, VA – Loudoun County is now accepting applications from business owners and residents interested in serving on the Rural Economic Development Council (REDC). The application deadline is Friday, July 18, 2025.

The REDC is an advisory body to the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors and the Department of Economic Development, composed of volunteers who are deeply engaged in the rural economy. Council members provide input on policies, programs, and initiatives that strengthen and diversify the rural economy—including agriculture, tourism, business, and outdoor recreation.

“The REDC is an important part of Loudoun’s economic development strategy,” said Buddy Rizer, Executive Director of Loudoun Economic Development. “We’re looking for passionate, forward-thinking individuals who want to help shape the future of our rural business communities.”

Council members are appointed for a three-year term and are expected to attend monthly meetings and actively participate in working groups and initiatives that align with the county’s Rural Economy Business Development Strategy.

To be considered, REDC applicants must submit:

  1. An online standard application at https://onboard.loudoun.gov/apply
Applicants: please include the REDC seat that you are applying for in the “Boards and Seats” section.

The Board of Supervisors will receive all applications within the County Application system and proceed with nominations and confirmations per the Board’s standard process for advisory boards, commissions, and committees, which can be found here: https://www.loudoun.gov/2474/Appointment-Procedures.
