Loudoun Farm Tour Wins VACo Achievement Award
The Loudoun County Department of Economic Development has been honored with a Virginia Association of Counties (VACo) Achievement Award for the Loudoun Farm Tour. VACo announced that the Loudoun Farm Tour was one of 57 recipients of the 2025 awards, which recognize excellence in government programs. This year, the association received a record 155 submissions.
The Loudoun Farm Tour is a program designed to showcase innovative and sustainable farming practices in the county. These biannual events take place during the planting season in spring and the harvest in fall, celebrating the area’s agricultural scene. On the third weekends of May and October, farms across Loudoun open their doors to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. These free, public events offer tours and educational components for all visitors. This year, the Loudoun Fall Farm Tour is scheduled for October 18 and 19.
The program was recognized in the Community Development, Economic Development & Land Use category.
“Thank you to all who participated in the 23rd year of the Achievement Awards,” said VACo Executive Director Dean Lynch. “Every year we seem to receive a record number of submissions. The program grows because counties continue to serve their communities well, and these awards are a reflection of the innovative work. Congratulations to county staff and leadership for their continued hard work and good decision making reflected in all 155 entries.”

The VACo Achievement Awards is a competitive program open to all local government members of the association. Loudoun County has a strong history with the awards, ranking third on the all-time list with 34 awards, just behind Chesterfield and Henrico counties.
