Workforce Wednesday: Veronica McClure, Hair Guru

Brian Tinsman
Digital Properties Manager
Meet Veronica McClure, owner, chief stylist and No. 1 employee for the aptly named Veronica McClure Hair. Stepping into Suite 103 of the Phenix Salon Suites at One Loudoun is more like stepping into an artist’s studio than a beauty salon.
Originally from New Jersey, McClure lived for a long time in North Carolina and moved to Leesburg with her husband and large family. Locating her operations in Ashburn has given her a great geographic advantage; she can serve clients from Washington D.C. to West Virginia.
What’s the key? McClure has found that clear communication throughout the process makes everyone happy.
“One of my core values in business is to create a personalized experience from the time you set your appointment, through the details of your consultation, and completion of your style,” she explains on her website. “I love helping my clients learn how to get a ‘just out of the salon’ look right from home.
“I always communicate and train my clients regarding their hair care by recommending the right shampoos and other products, offering advice and education.”
The strategy has worked for Veronica and rubbed off on her son, Danny, who is a stylist at Ian McCabe Studio in D.C.’s West End. Like any proud mom, she’s pretty thrilled with his success, which includes working backstage at New York Fashion Week.
