Community Encouraged to Select “Fresh and Local” Loudoun Trees
The Loudoun County Department of Economic Development has just issued the Christmas in the Loudoun Valleys: 2014 Guide to Trees, Greens and Holiday Floral Products. The printed guide features:
• Participating Loudoun County tree farms and other outlets where you can choose and cut your own tree and purchase evergreens or locally grown poinsettia plants;
• A detailed map showing farm locations;
• A tree care guide;
• Information on fun activities taking place this holiday season in Loudoun.
“Many people don’t realize that seven years of care go into every Loudoun-grown tree. Purchasing from the farms in this guide is a terrific way to not only support our local growers, but to make lasting family memories as you visit their farms, select a tree, and bring the holidays into your home,” said Loudoun County Director of Economic Development Buddy Rizer.
Many of the farms open for the season the day after Thanksgiving. For specific farm information, and to receive a copy of the guide, visit www.loudounfarms.org/christmastrees.
