Loudoun Spring Farm Tour 2016: Great Food and Lots of Fun
This year, almost 50 Loudoun County farms, craft beverage businesses and special venues will be open to the public for the Spring Farm Tour, which runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, May 21-22. Brochures listing all the sites are available at county libraries and community centers, and online at LoudounFarms.org/FarmTour.
“Kids can have fun while learning about farm animals and crops through hands-on experiences like holding baby chicks, riding ponies, feeding alpacas, petting rabbits and picking strawberries,” said Loudoun Economic Development Executive Director Buddy Rizer.
Adults can enjoy craft beverages from participating wineries, breweries and meaderies, along with a wide variety of fresh, local food.
“Our businesses are committed to offering the highest quality healthy and delicious food,” said Loudoun Agricultural Development Officer Kellie Hinkle.
There are eight new sites on the tour this year:
– Black Hops Farm
– Otium Cellars
– Blue Ridge Center’s Mountain View Farm
– CEA Farms
– Cerritos Farm
– Edgegrove Farm
– Legacy Farms
– Wegmeyers at Gilberts Corner
