Loudoun, Virginia Economic Development announces the Fast-Track Commercial Incentive Program for commercial real estate projects.

Since 2004, Loudoun County has had procedures in place to expedite approvals for commercial real estate projects. The new and improved procedures provide commercial real estate projects with a dedicated project team, and are designed to save businesses time and money.

“The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors has a strong commitment to maintaining a business-friendly environment that encourages commercial growth,” explained Loudoun County Board of Supervisors Chairman Scott K. York. “A key to business growth is encouraging and assisting commercial development opportunities that enhance the tax base.”

The Fast-Track Program is available for companies in targeted industries, such as information and communication technology; federal government contractors and agencies; aerospace and airport-related businesses; and projects supporting those industry groups. Other commercial projects meeting the criteria may also be considered.

“Our goal is to make sure businesses have a successful experience relocating to Loudoun County, or expanding their existing Loudoun operations,” said Matt Letourneau, the chair of the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors’ Economic Development Committee.

Prospective Fast Track applicants should contact Loudoun, Virginia Economic Development to determine if their project qualifies. Projects must have an appropriately zoned site that is controlled by the applicant, as well as a defined project team with a single point of contact. Other requirements include presenting a proposed timeline for review by the county team; providing the county team with estimated project investments, including land, building and interior improvements; and presenting job creation estimates.

“County reviewing agencies will move qualified projects to the head of the line for the entire development review process,” explained Robyn Bailey, the economic development manager in charge of facilitating projects through the county development process. “Success means achieving 100 percent of the timeline set by the applicant. We’ve met that goal for eight years, and will continue to do so under the new system.”
