“Signatures of Loudoun” Winners Announced
The Loudoun County Design Cabinet, which is supported by the Loudoun County Department of Economic Development, revealed these winners of the 2015 “Signatures of Loudoun” architecture and design competition in a special presentation to the Board of Supervisors:
• Mt. Zion Church, Aldie
• The Leesburg Diner, Leesburg
• One Loudoun, Ashburn
• Newton-Lee Elementary School’s Virginia Timeline Mural, Ashburn
• Salamander Equine Center, Middleburg
• Neustar, Sterling
• The Middleburg Library Addition, Middleburg

“Loudoun County looks like success,” said Department Director Buddy Rizer. “That look is reflected in the leading-edge interior spaces of a tech company like Neustar, and also in the traditional look and feel of the brand-new Salamander Equine Center. The fact that excellence is exhibited even in the design of Loudoun work places shows the caliber of our business environment.”
During the award ceremony, a lifetime achievement award was bestowed on local real estate developer Bob Buchanan.
“We recognize Bob Buchanan with the visionary award because of his early and enduring leadership in bringing quality development to Loudoun County,” said Design Cabinet Chairman Alan Hansen. “Bob is someone known for taking the initiative, with the ability to think outside the box, nurture teamwork, and cultivate trust and loyalty among the people he works with. He is always a leader, and has been a visionary in real estate and economic development in Loudoun County for decades.”
