The Loudoun County Economic Development Commission has several openings for terms beginning in January 2013. Leaders from all sectors of the local business community are encouraged to apply. Interviews will take place in September.

EDC voting members contribute their time, experience and ideas to promote business growth, strengthen Loudoun County’s economy, and preserve our high quality of life.
The Commission’s responsibilities include:
o Providing program and policy recommendations to the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors.
o Developing, updating and implementing the community’s Economic Development Strategic Plan.
o Coordinating economic development among groups in the county.
The EDC:
Established in 1995 by Loudoun County’s Board of Supervisors, the EDC is a public/private partnership responsible for promoting the economic development of Loudoun County. The Commission serves as a forum through which business and government leaders meet to exchange ideas and experiences about business growth in the county.
Organized with up to thirty-five voting members, the EDC features representatives from diverse industries such as: aerospace, agribusiness, banking an finance, higher education, professional services, federal contracting, information and communications technology, real estate development, retail, and small business. Additional commissioners include ex-officio members representing key economic development businesses and organizations. The Commission also has several classes of non-voting members including standing advisory members and specially appointed advisory members.
